Very young children develop language and literacy through interactions and experiences with the adults around them. Emergent literacy begins at birth and is the focus of this comprehensive curriculum. Participants will study the developmental stages of early language and literacy. They will review the role of relationships, culture and stories in early language and literacy development. Participants will also examine ways to engage families to support early language and literacy.
